UNDER-15s teams in the Derwent Valley Junior League will be allowed to play eight-a-side matches from now on.

The amendment was passed at the league’s annual general meeting by a vote of six to four. The idea behind the change of rule was to make it easier for smaller village clubs to be able to put a side out.

The meeting had a full attendance of 19 member clubs – which became 20 as Mulgrave were voted in as a new member as all new applications were accepted.

It was also announced that Greenwood Hire had agreed to continue with sponsorship for 2015.
