KIRKBYMOORSIDE Under-15s enjoyed a fine 4-3 victory at Bishopthorpe White Rose in the York Minor League second division.
In a close game, goals from Harvey D'Alquin, Sam Newman, Jonathan Ridler and Lucas Davison gave the Moorsiders the spoils.
Brooklyn U15s were unable to cause a shock in the York MinorLeague Cup third round as Rawcliffe, one of the top teams in division one, won 2-0 to reach the semi-finals.
Brooklyn's defence was constantly under pressure, with the deadlock being broken midway through the first half when a corner was only half-cleared and a sliced cross looped in.
Brooklyn had a chance to level when Tom Richardson's shot from a long pass was tipped onto and over the cross bar by the keeper.
There was little change in the second half, with Brooklyn's defence having no restbite, Rawcliffe increasing their lead 15 minutes in.
Brooklyn keeper Ben Pickering pulled off a good reaction save from a close range and Luke Scott cleared off the line from a Rawcliffe corner to keep the scoreline down.
Kirkbymoorside U14s breezed into the quarter-finals of their cup with an 8-1 win over Huntington.
Dan Ward hit four goals, with Matty Tarry (2), James Farrow and Adam Eustace also on target.
Emily Dowson scored for Kirkbymoorside U18 Ladies but they lost 2-1 at North Ormsby.
Chris Pattison impressed on his first appearance for Heslerton U14s and Jake Jackson defended valiantly, but their side fell 9-0 at home to Phoenix in the Scarborough Minor League.
Old Malton Blues U13s were edged out 4-3 by Woodthorpe in the York Minor League.
Joe Matique cracked in the opener from Patryk Jadczuk's pass to give Malton a great start, and they continued to dominate with the midfield keeping possession and passing the ball well.
However, Woodthorpe equalised with a well-taken free-kick to equalise and caught the defence off guard to go 2-1 up.
A free-kick into the box at the other end saw Will Scholefield volley goalwards but Woodthorpe's keeper made a fine save, pushing the ball onto the bar.
The equaliser came on half-time as Lewis Pople headed home from a corner.
The second half saw end-to-end football but loose defending in the box allowed Woodthorpe to retake the lead and an own goal made it 4-2.
Outstanding play from Matique saw Pople get his second header of the game but Malt could not find an equaliser.
Ollie Stanton's man-of-the-match performance could not stop Heslerton U12s losing 4-2 at Eastfield in the Scarborough Minor League.
Hessy, for whom debutant Alex Muir also impressed, went 2-0 up - Stanton curling home a free-kick after Ollie Crisp was fouled, and Will Gilbank poking home after Crisp went on a surging run and hit a rasping shot that was parried.
But, after the interval, despite good defending Alex Lyle and Joseph Richardson, two quickfire goals brought Eastfield level and, as Hessy pushed forward looking to regain the lead, they were caught out twice more.
Brooklyn U12s Girls fell out of the York League Cup after a 2-0 first-round defeat to a determined Copmanthorpe side.
A lacklustre Brooklyn changed positions around after going two behind but could not break down a well-organised defence.
Old Malton St Mary's U11s fell 7-3 to Rawcliffe U11s in the York & Ryedale Mitchell Sports League.
Rawcliffe gained the upper hand from the off, looking the stronger, more physical team.
Man-of-the-match Nathan Dolphin's two excellent finishes sandwiched Charlie Thompson's goal from close range, following up Josh Mann's free-kick that had been parried by the keeper.
But Rawcliffe were always ahead and only some wayward finishing and determined goalkeeping and defending kept the scoreline down.
