A MALTON & NORTON Under-13s were beaten 36-12 at Hull Ionians.
Malton conceded an early try but soon levelled as George Austin-Thompson picked up from the base of a ruck and powered over down the blindside.
Hull monopolised field position, though, and crossed five more times before Austin-Thompson added a second try for Malton, converted by Iain Oakley.
Malton & Norton U12s played their best rugby of the season in a 35-7 home win over Driffield.
They were quickly out of the blocks and went ahead through tries by Jack Thomas and George Raines on his debut.
Driffield were under the cosh throughout the first half and the second followed a similar path.
Having gone close several times, Malton scored when Charlie Blackburn scurried away from a couple of tackles. They scored again from the restart, Oliver Kelsey diving on the ball following a move involving Max Wainwright and Blackburn.
Wainwright got his own try from half-way, while Adam Finlinson converted all five touchdowns. Driffield bagged a late consolation.
