COLIN McNEIL banked an impressive net of 80lb 8oz on a wet, blustery day on the coast at Lambwath fishery, Aldbrough, during Tuesday’s G B Angling Club match on the main lake.

He took a couple of early carp on the feeder at corner peg three before switching to the pole and paste to bag a string of specimens up to the 10lb mark.

Phil Roberts secured runners-up place off peg nine with a level half-century of carp taken on the 13-metre pole with either paste or pellet for bait.

Colin Sherwood made the most of a favourable draw in Wednesday’s York midweek match on the High Bank at Raker Lakes, winning with 49lb.

Fishing with the strong wind off his back, he employed pole and pellet tactics to take a good mixed net of carp, crucian, skimmers and roach.

Match organiser Cliff Dawson took second place with 36lb 14oz of bomb and pellet- caught carp from peg six.

Youth triumphed over experience at Rosedale fishery last Monday as 16-yearold Aidan Coup showed the Contemptibles a clean pair of heels, recording 19lbs of feeder-caught carp from peg 32.

Steve Mugglestone had to be content with 11lb 13oz and second place from peg 19.

A lot of fresh water flowing through the Risby Park complex slowed sport down for Westland’s AC’s anglers in Friday’s fixture on the Folly Lake.

Phil Roberts led the way with 25lb 10oz, taking carp, tench and skimmers to 2lb apiece with pole and pellet at peg 18.

Fellow Norton angler Terry Tierney was second with 22lb 8oz.
