DEFENDING Moors League champions Royal Oak A were on sparkling form on their visit to Cropton’s New Inn. 

Adam Durrant (2x140,2x100 scores), Mally Durrant (140), Sam Myers (140) and Kev Fairclough (135) helped Oak take eight legs in a row before New Inn got a foothold in the first pairs leg. 

Colin Pepler (2x140) starred as the home side pulled it back to 8-2 in the threes.

King’s Head A also racked up an 8-2 victory at, Sun Inn, Pickering, with James Magson (125,121,3x100), Matty Gardner (4x100, 78 finish) and Mick Bateman (2x140,100) on exceptional form. Tim Nichols and Steve Cass hit a ton each in their individual wins for Sun.

Normanby’s Sun Inn A enjoyed a comfortable 7-3 victory at Coach House with Neil Robson (4x100), John Bristow (3x100) and Geoff Allen (140) turning on the style for the visitors. 

Rich Gillings (100) and Dean Parker gamed in the singles for Coach with Bry Cook (130) joining Parker for their other point in the pairs.

Sam Dickson and Gav Harrison hit three tons apiece for King’s Head B as they beat The Peacock 7-3. 

Rob McPherson (2x100) was Peacock’s only individual winner but success in both pairs legs made for a respectable scoreline.

Sun Inn B recovered from 4-1 down to draw 5-5 in an entertaining match with Moorside Bar & Club. 

Shaun Suffield (2x100) and Kev Gardner helped put Moorside in charge before Jon Scarth (100) and Mick Hodgson pulled Sun back to 4-3. 

With the pairs shared, and after losing to Dave Gardner (135,100) in the singles, Nie Monkman came to life in the threes for Sun, hitting 180,140 and a 40 finish to snatch a hard earned draw.

Col Ward, Nick Taylor (121,2x100), Chris Freer (3x100) and Mike Peirson (133) edged Buck Inn ahead at Royal Oak B with Darren Sunley (2x100), Oliver Stead and S.Jones striking back for the home side. 

Jones, Pete Dowsland (100) and Rob Sonley secured a 5-5 draw for Oak in the threes after a pairs win each.
