THE North Yorkshire football community came together at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium to celebrate the winners of the North Riding Grassroots Football Awards earlier this month.
Recognising the outstanding contributions in various categories four awards were presented to Ryedale clubs at the ceremony on October 11.
Malton-based Brooklyn Junior Football Club scooped the Club of the Year thanks to the dedication shown from Rebecca and Chris Sleightholm.
The club also earned the Keeping Football Positive Award, presented to Victoria Cuthbertson.
Old Malton St Mary’s Nick Drew took home the Female Pathway Coach of the Year after a string of successes.
Finally, the Disability Pathway Coach of the Year was won by York City Foundation’s Paul Cussins.
A spokesperson said: "This is a fantastic achievement for these local clubs and a testament to the dedication and passion of those involved in grassroots football.”
