THE final round of the British F4 season at Brands Hatch brought with it mixed results for Nunnington racer Bart Harrison.
He had a strong qualifying on the Grand Prix circuit, seeing him secure a sixth place start on the grid, going on to only drop one place during the race as he earned another Rookie podium.
However, he was pushed wide in race two, seeing him drop down the standings towards the back of the pack.
The race was later red flagged and abandoned following a crash shortly before half distance.
The final race started as rain began to fall and three cars spun off at various stages of the first lap on their slick tyres. Again, it was red flagged and the cars all returned to the pits to be fitted with wet tyres, after which the race restarted.
Bart battled well over the first two laps, getting himself up to fourth place before being demoted back to what had seemed a relatively secure fifth.
But a safety car period bunched up the pack and at the restart, under pressure to defend his position, he ran wide and slid off the track, re-joining in 15th, denying him the chance to sign off at Chris Dittmann Racing with a Rookie win.
The teenager’s attention now turns to 2025, for which he has various options across the UK and Europe.
Before that however, he will head to Italy this weekend to complete two days of testing with renown Swiss team Jenzer Motorsport at Monza.
He will race with the team from October 25-27 in a round of the Italian F4 Championship, in what is sure to be a great experience to take a look at the hugely competitive series.
