LONG-STANDING skipper Sam Triffitt will lead Malton & Norton RUFC for a twelfth successive season as the club prepare for the upcoming Regional 2 North East campaign.
Malton finished last season in a creditable third place, also reaching the final of the Papa John’s Community Cup, in which they were defeated by Lutterworth.
The club will commence training for the forthcoming season on Thursday, August 1, when it is expected that members of all squads will attend.
During their pre-season, Malton will also host York RUFC at the Gannock on Friday, August 16 (7pm).
There is an expectation for senior players to have maintained a modicum of fitness levels during the recess so that the coach and his assistants can immediately commence preparations.
Whilst Triffitt again takes up the first-team captaincy, the club’s Ladies team, known as the Marvels, will be captained by Emily Midgely.
