WHITBY Town climbed into the top 10 in the Evo-Stik League premier division thanks to a third straight 2-0 win, this time at lowly Stafford Rangers.
Victory was marred, however, by an injury to player-boss Darren Williams, who was carried off early on.
The goals came in either half. Lee Mason crossed for defender Richard Pell to score with a far-post header after 16 minutes, and the visitors continued to dominate after the interval and doubled their lead as Shane Henry netted from close range.
The Blues have two home games this week. On Boxing Day, they entertain sixth-placed Blyth Spartans (3pm), and on Saturday they will host 12th-placed Matlock (3pm).
