Rillington Athletic enjoyed their best result of the season on Saturday when they thrashed Filey Town reserves 7-0 in the second division of the Scarborough & District League.
Hitting doubles were James Lawley, Sam Triffitt and Mark Dring, while Adam Spaven scored direct from a corner in what was a much-improved all-round team performance.
Division two leaders Edgehill reserves thrashed United Sports Bar 10-1.
Gary Hepples (3), Lee Dennis (2), Jason Prosser, Tony Pickles, Martyn Ferrey, Dave Bell and an own goal found the target. Craig Rackham scored the visitors’ consolation.
In the first division, Seamer Sports beat Falsgrave 3-1 thanks to a brace by former Pickering Town favourite Darren Clough plus a strike by Sam Sweeting.
Third division leaders West Pier reserves won 12-3 in a goal fest at Ayton reserves, while Commercial edged Cayton Corinthians reserves 2-1.
There are no league or cup fixtures this Saturday in the Scarborough & District League due to the festive break.
