Malton’s Yorkshire League team have enjoyed an excellent week ahead of the Christmas break.
Malt won at Dunnington II and followed this two days later with a home victory over Huddersfield I.
The 16-12 success at Dunnington came courtesy of wins by Mike Catling and Andy Phillips, with Jamie Hopwood sealing the victory with a 15-10 win in the very last leg of the match.
Hopwood and Catling were winners again in the 16-11 defeat of Huddersfield, with Malt’s other success coming from Rob Taylor.
Malton are in sixth place in division one with a game in hand on all the teams above them.
At the halfway stage of the season in the York & District League, all of Malton men’s team are fairing well, with most in the top half of their respective divisions.
Malton I are fifth in division one, Malton II seventh in division the, Malt III fourth in division four, and Malt IV second in division five.
In the Ladies League, Malton I need to start winning quickly in the second half of the season to lift themselves off bottom spot in division one. Malton 2 have won four out of six games and are third in division two.
