I am an elected Conservative Ryedale District councillor, but am considerably worried because a number of people who usually vote Conservative do not intend to do so at the next General Election, and many of these people are not happy with our present MP.
We all know, I think, what happened in the North Yorkshire elections. In Malton, the Conservative vote was split with Ukip and where a Conservative had been in for many years, a Lib Dem was elected. In Filey, a Ukip candidate was elected as a North Yorkshire county councillor.
In my opinion, by selecting Anne McIntosh as our candidate we risk losing the election, but of course I could be wrong.
But what I will say is look at this situation and make a decision.
Ann Hopkinson, Ryedale district and Malton town councillor.
