A flurry of letters graced these pages a few weeks ago from the villages of Helperthorpe and Weaverthorpe in the Great Wold Valley, concerning two wind turbine applications.
It has been pointed out that a letter of mine, published in the Gazette in October, implied that Jonathan Clarke – of Humberside CDA, which is a partner in these turbine projects – is unable to devote enough time to his work, that he may have been dishonest or malfeasant and that he and his co-director/s might inappropriately use moneys received from the projects personally.
None of these meanings were intended and, if implied, are hereby retracted.
Further, none of these statements are true and I apologise for any distress or damage that might have been caused to the feelings or reputation of Mr Clarke and HCDA.
Lynne Porter, Helperthorpe
