CHILDREN in Ryedale will have a permanent reminder of the Diamond Jubilee when they receive their own Jubilee New Testament.
The congregations of the three All Saints’ Churches of Hovingham, Slingsby and Appleton-le-Street are giving a copy of the holy book to all pupils in the three primary schools of Amotherby, Hovingham and Slingsby and to every baby baptised and to every couple married in the parishes in 2012.
They will also celebrate in similar ways to congregations across the UK with special services, a Hog Roast, fun days and joining in the National Beacon Chain on the Monday evening.
