A RYEDALE school pupil has been has been selected to sing at the Diamond Jubilee Choir in the presence of the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Rupert Waley a student at St Martin’s Ampleforth pupil, has been specially selected to join the choir at the Service of Thanksgiving on Tuesday, June 5.
The choir is made up of 40 specially selected choristers from across the UK aged between 11 and 13.
Rupert, who is 13, will sing a new choral work that has been specially created for this service by British composer Will Todd.
“I am very excited at the prospect of singing for the Queen and singing in St Paul’s Cathedral,” said Rupert.
“We are rehearsing the day before and having to stay the night in London.
