PICTURES of the Queen will be projected on to Scarborough Castle as part of the Diamond Jubilee beacon celebrations.
English Heritage, owners of the castle, with Scarborough Borough Council and P&L Sound And Lighting of Scarborough have combined to produce a 45-minute display on the castle’s south-facing walls.
The illuminations will include pictures of the Queen and form part of the national beacon chain.
The castle’s site manager, Peter Bleach, said: “It’s fitting that this Royal stronghold – built by successive medieval kings over two centuries and now one of the finest visitor attractions in the north of England – will be illuminated to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. English Heritage is really excited to be part of the jubilee celebrations at this site and at some of our other sites across the country.”
