FRIENDS of Jan Wilson have the chance to remember her in sport and quiet reflection at Middleham and Angus, in Scotland, later this year.
Although Jan worked at David Barron’s yard in Thirsk, she made many friends in the Wensleydale racing town. On Remembrance Sunday, her ashes were scattered on the High Moor, at Middleham.
Now her family are planning to put up a bench on the gallops there where she used to ride. Middleham will also be the scene for a game of football which will be played on Sunday, June 27, for the Jockey Jan Memorial Trophy. Her family are also to place a memorial seat at Rescobie Church.
