More than 200 Yorkshire businesswomen are preparing to celebrate their achievements in rural enterprises.
The Proud to be WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) Conference 2006 aims to motivate women who may either be starting a business or already have fully established enterprises.
"Our organisation is all about inspiring, supporting and advising women in rural enterprise," said Fiona Scott, WiRE's Yorkshire regional manager. "We are championing the significant contribution they make to our economy through their diverse talents."
The importance of women's roles in rural businesses will be the focal point of the conference.
Alex McWhirter, head of enterprise at Yorkshire Forward, said: "Too many women feel that they are limited when it comes to looking at business opportunities and setting up their own enterprise.
"We welcome this event because it shows that this really is not the case. Encouraging more women to set up their own business is a key priority."
Three of WiRE's members will talk about their successful businesses and share their experiences with other members.
WiRE has also planned a selection of motivational guest speakers, including professional speaker Sue Tonks and best-selling author and broadcaster Frances Edmonds.
There will also be a chance for women to network, with a rural market place and a lunch showcasing a variety of products supplied from members. Free business advice from professionals is also offered throughout the day.
The conference will be held on February 16, at Harrogate's Nidd Hall Hotel.
Advanced booking for the Proud to be WiRE Conference 2006 is essential. For more information call (01952) 815338.
