PICKERING TOWN will officially launch the book which chronicles their history over the last 30 years on Saturday, November 24, at the home league game against Denaby United.
Several copies of the book, written by Steve Adamson, have already been sold, but chairman Tony Dunning said the club would like to mark its release by inviting as many former players and asociates of the club as possible.
The book, which is called 'Playing The Game' includes results, scorers, match reports, photographs and managers' quotes from over 1,000 Pikes' games.
Steve, who was club secretary from 1977 to 1979, said the book had taken a year to produce. He had collated all the information from programmes, Malton library and old newspaper cuttings, including some from the Gazette & Herald.
A total of 150 copies have been printed, which will be sold in the club shop, priced £8.
Despite being an avid Pikes fan, Steve spends his Saturday afternoon's managing Scarborough League third division club Burniston.
Former players can contact Tony Dunning on (01751) 473697 to gain free entrance to the game against Denaby.
