CHILDREN from Gillamoor School took a step back in time last month when they took part in the war re-enactment weekend at Pickering.
Thanks to the sterling efforts of parents and grandparents alike, they really looked the part dressed as wartime evacuees.
A spokesman for the school said it was a real challenge to kit them out with clothing as authentic as possible, but the hard work was well worth it and wherever they went, visitors to Pickering, applauded them wholeheartedly.
Parents Andrew Feather and Mary Colman also entered into the spirit of things, dressing up in the part and providing much welcome support. The school thanked everyone for the all round effort made by everyone concerned.
