SO Malton Post Office is re-locating, good! The current one is far too small and long queues impede the Co-op shoppers.
Larger premises are needed, somewhere convenient to shoppers and businesses, central, near to a pelican crossing and with easy parking. A place with convenient posting boxes and a phone box would be nice, and perhaps with easier access to the new separate arms of the delivery service - letters and parcels.
A pleasant purpose-built place would be nice, with plenty of room for prams and wheelchairs - I've got it! The very place the Post Office left - at huge expense - ten years ago!
And all at a time when people - customers - said "what a shame, it's a lovely place", and now we're told larger premises are an indication of how well the town is doing. Nobody said how badly it was doing when the Post Office moved to smaller premises, did they?
