A TRIBUTE to the Queen's Golden Jubilee next year could take the form of a bandstand in Malton Market Place.
But local councillors have not yet decided whether to take the plans forward.
Malton Town Council has suggested the plan and is seeking the "in principle" approval from Ryedale District Council.
The plan would see a bandstand built at a location in the town's square.
Town councillors have expressed wishes for the bandstand to be built at one of two locations - outside the Malton Museum or in the car park opposite the Green Man Hotel.
Ryedale district councillors were set to decide whether to give their thumbs-up to the plan at their Community Services and Licensing Committee meeting on Thursday.
But in a report which is set to be presented at that meeting, officers have urged councillors to delay a decision over the matter until further information is provided.
"Fundamental concerns have been raised which would need to be addressed before any sort of approval could be given," says the report. "A feasibility study should be undertaken, complete details of design, location and materials should be provided."
