CHILDREN in a Ryedale village are making sure they will be at a special Christmas party.
More than 100 invitations have gone out to youngsters living in Nawton, Beadlam, and nearby Skiplam.
And one very important invite has been sent to the man in red himself, Father Christmas.
Sharon Strickland, who has helped organise the giant party, said it would be a traditional event with plenty of party games, crisps, cakes and, of course, presents.
She said: "We want to make this an annual event in the village hall.
"Last year we held the first one and 107 children came, and this year we have planned it based on a questionnaire of what the children want."
Mrs Strickland said thanks had to go to everyone who had helped raise more than £1,000 to pay for this year's party.
Anyone from Nawton, Beadlam or Skiplam who has not received an invitation for the free event should contact Sharon Strickland of the Christmas party committee, on 01439 770339.
The party will be held on December 23, between 4pm and 7pm.
