YOUNGSTERS at Brooklyn Playgroup have been busily preparing for Christmas - thanks to a helping hand or two.
Two students from Norton College, Hayley Woodcock and Vicky Dalton, have been assisting at the playgroup as part of a scheme called the Bridge Project, and helped the children with their Christmas decorations.
Playgroup leader Judith Shaw said: "Hayley came last year, and she got on so well that she wanted to stay on, which we were more than happy about. Vicky is also finding it really interesting."
As well as the help from the two girls, Judith said the playgroup got a great deal of help from the children's families. She said: "We have mum helpers. They tend to come on a rota but we do need them, because there's so much going on."
The children are now looking forward to a Christmas party, and will be giving a short concert for their families on December 18, when they will sing Christmas songs as a finale to the term.
