Yorkshire County IBA Under-18s Inter-District Three Rinks Triples

AFTER nearly seven hours of play, the North-East team (consisting of players from Ryedale, Scarborough and Thornaby) claimed victory for the third consecutive year in the Bellamy-Wright Trophy.

They finished level on points with the Central district side (consisting of players from York, New Earswick and Harrogate), but their superior shots difference of +92 ensured victory, compared with Central's +55.

Skips Daniel Whitehouse, who alternated with Rob Goldsmith for North East One, and Paul Humphreys, who skipped every game for North East Two, won all their games comprehensively.

Les Bingley, junior vice president of the Yorkshire County Indoor Bowling Association, presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up.

Thanks were expressed to umpire Eric Tomlinson.

North East team: Daniel Whitehouse, Rob Goldsmith, Mark Ayres and Daniel Carney (North East One); Paul Humphreys, Ryan Longthorne, Nicola Preston and Toni-Marie Robertson (North East Two); Graeme Slack, Rachael Trace, Rob Kirby and Gemma Preston (North East Three).
