RIPON Cathedral is the venue for the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service when the Rev Dr Stuart Burgess, chairman of the Methodist York and Hull District, will be the preacher.
The service takes place at 11.30am on Sunday, October 6, and all are welcome. Lessons will be read by the president of the society, John Henderson, and the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, Mark Evans.
Nigel Pulling, chief executive of the society, said: "Harvest is an important date on the farming calendar and we hope as many people as possible will join us to celebrate the occasion."
In addition, members of the Ripon Cathedral Development Campaign are organising a hog roast lunch after the service. For further details regarding the service, please contact Janet Fox at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society on (01423) 541000.
