THERE'S not a dog in Yorkshire unluckier than Jasper.
For despite never doing a thing wrong, this seven-year-old is back at the Blue Cross adoption centre in Thirsk for the sixth time. Deputy manager Jackie Haw said: "Jasper is a handsome, friendly dog who adores people and is very affectionate. But he's had more than his fair share of bad luck."
Jasper, who even featured on TV's Pet Rescue once, has found a new home on several occasions - but each time an unusual reason has meant Jasper has returned to the Blue Cross centre.
Jackie added: "One of his recent owners was a pub landlord, whose bosses decided that he could no longer have a dog in the pub. Another time he went to a family home, where one of the children was allergic to dogs."
While not being keen on other dogs, Jasper even gave blood recently to help another animal at the centre.
"Jasper is a very loving dog and a big softie around people," said Jackie, "He just needs a good home for life with people who love him. He loves games with toys and footballs in the garden - although it's a good idea to use two, as he doesn't always want to give them back!"
