TRACTORS and working horses from all over the country will be coming to Selby for an annual ploughing match.
So far, 47 tractors have signed up to take part in the match at 10.30am on Sunday, March 2. Classic and vintage machines will come head to head on the land, adjacent to Camblesforth Road, Selby. The organiser is Mr B Glavin on (01757) 704462.
Visitors will also be able to watch 15 pairs of working horses take part in the match, including those belonging to Peter Brassett from Beamish museum and Jim Elliott, the world champion.
There will be a horse shoeing demonstration and refreshments will be available. A grand raffle will be held in aid of Martin House children's hospice.
Admission will be £2. Accompanied children will be free.
