RJF Homes Beckett League - Both divisions have new leaders after Kirkdale United stole a march on local rivals Duncombe Park, who were on cup duty, to lead division one, while Pickering Royal Oak grabbed their eighth successive league win to go top of division two.
Kirkdale went top after thrashing Union Rovers 9-0 at home. It was Rovers' heaviest ever defeat, although they were missing a few vital players. The opening goal was scored by defender Stephen Monkman, who chipped the keeper. Other goals followed from Martin Charlton, Ian Prendergast, David Greenlay and Philip Charlton in the first half.
Second-half goals were added by Philip Marwood (2), Prendergast and sub Arthur Coote - his first of the season. Man of the match for Kirkdale was Paddy Robinson. Brian Shepherd and Nicky Piercy impressed for Rovers.

The match of the day in the quarter-finals was a five-goal thriller at Sinnington where the home side beat Gillamoor 3-2 in a match which brought back memories from the 1960s and 1970s when the two village sides were arch rivals. The afternoon started on a sad note with both sides observing a minute's silence for Mr Brian Mudd, the Sinnington chairman who passed away recently.
The Sinners started well, taking a three-goal lead through Gary Mitchell, Lee Mitchell and a penalty from Dave Wilkinson. John Harland pulled a goal back for Gillamoor just before half-time. The second half saw Gillamoor play superbly but the Sinners defended their lead well. Gary Stamper scored a second Gillamoor goal but the first division side held out. Man of the match winners were Lee Mitchell (Sinnington) and Gary Stamper (Gillamoor), with impressive displays by Paul Harland (Sinnington) and Craig Ibbotson (Gillamoor).
Duncombe Park won the battle of the league leaders at Thornton-le-Dale. After a goalless first half, Park took control as their superior fitness on a sticky pitch became apparent. Their goals were scored by Liam Ogunshakin (penalty), Shane Wilson, after a superb defence-splitting pass by Andrew Souter, Craig Newton, with an 18-yard left-foot shot, and Andrew Souter, with a left-foot shot from close range.
Adam Kendrew was Dale's man of the match, while Park's whole team got the award for their second-half display.
Old Malton thirds reached the semi-finals, beating Heslerton reserves 2-0, thanks to goals from Stuart Clarkson after 20 minutes, with a well-struck shot, and man of the match Jim Dawson senior after 70 minutes. Heslerton reserves' man of the match was Ashley Cooke.
Black Swan, Pickering, won their second round tie with Ryedale Sports Club reserves 1-0. On a boggy pitch, this local derby proved to be a very tight, competitive game. John Reed went close for Ryedale in the first half but overall, chances were few.
Black Swan had more possession in the second half but the Ryedale defence stood firm until nine minutes from time when Swan man of the match Simon Dale broke away down the right wing and centred for Damon Potter to score from close range with his first-ever goal for the club. Ryedale's man of the match was Carl McClaren.
