JUST months after a nasty motocross accident at Harwood Dale last year, Barrie Darrell proved he had not lost his touch by winning the Eboracum-organised Kay Trophy Trial. The Pickering-based rider won after completing the Vale of York course with no penalties against his name.
He finished ahead of Kirkbymoorside's Mark Harrison, who collected three faults to claim runner-up spot. Harrison did well to focus on the job, considering his partner Sarah was expecting a child that same day. Scarborough's Gary Collinson finished third, also with three faults, with Helmsley's Jonathan Frost (five faults) and Kirkbymoorside's Tim Peace (11 faults) taking fourth and fifth spots respectively. Pickering GP David Capes finished seventh in the clubman B class with eight marks.
