BETTER links are being made between Yorkshire Forward and york-england.com after the appointment of Adam Pursar.
The former head of business investment at Yorkshire Forward has been given the job of marketing director at york-england.com.
The appointment is seen as a positive endorsement of york-england.com's ongoing work in the North Yorkshire region.
In the past year york-england.com, formerly the York and North Yorkshire Inward Investment Board, has attracted 25 new businesses to the North Yorkshire area representing some 220 new jobs for local people.
Tighter links with Yorkshire Forward will also help york-england.com to increase marketing and relocation services across North Yorkshire, particularly along the A1/A64 corridor.
The main focus will be on public sector relocation, food and drink, bioscience and IT and digital.
In addition, the appointment is expected to bolster york-england.com's role in the central government's Northern Way Growth Strategy and Regional Economic Strategy.
"We are delighted to have Adam Purser join our team from Yorkshire Forward,'' said Imelda Havers, chief executive of york.england.com.
"His excellent track record in marketing and experience with Yorkshire Forward will significantly strengthen our regional position as a sub-regional player.''
Adam was previously the head of business investment at Yorkshire Forward, where he was responsible for developing new inward investment and global market strategies.
He said: "I am delighted to be joining the team at york-england.com. I look forward to developing and implementing a marketing strategy that will include all our local partners and link their objectives to those of Yorkshire Forward to help drive forward the economic regeneration of the region.''
