Calling all runners to the starting line. It's time to get your trainers on to take part in the Kirkbymoorside 10km run.
The event, in its fifth year, is on Sunday, May 1, and will include the children's one mile and the children's dash.
Money raised through entry fees is put towards improvements at Kirkbymoorside Junior School and Gillamoor C of E Primary School.
The 10k run is a fast and undulating course, which starts in Kirkbymoorside and runs through Gillamoor and Fadmoor before heading back into Kirkbymoorside town centre. Around 30 marshals will be ensuring the safety of race participants and spectators.
There are prizes for the winners who break the course records of 32mins 10sec for men, and 34mins and 40sec for women.
Race Organiser Malcolm Hodgson said: "We do quite well. The record times we have are good.
"We get between 300 and 350 entrants. It's a mix of locals and clubs. We've got quite a few entries from Thirsk and Selby. This year, we've even got entries from Scotland and London."
The children's dash was held for the first time last year. Entrants, who are in Years 1 and 2 at school, have a short course to complete - running up a hill and then back down again.
Teams can also enter and have separate prizes to bid for. But all finishers will get a commemorative mug for that first post-race thirst-quencher.
For an entry form, please write to the Race Secretary, 34 West End, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, YO62 6AF.
