A WOMAN had to be cut out of a car by firefighters following a two-vehicle crash yesterday (Sunday).
Malton’s On-Call Firefighters along with colleagues from Helmsley Fire Station were called to the collision on the B1257 between Slingsby and Hovingham at 3.48pm.
The accident involved two vehicles, both travelling in the opposite direction to the other.
The male driver on one vehicle was assisted out of his car by members of the public.
A female front passenger of the other car had to be extricated by fire crews and paramedics.
Crews used electric spreading equipment to remove the door of the vehicle, and on the arrival of an ambulance, she was assisted to a stretcher.
All casualties were transported to hospital via road ambulance.
