A crash on a major road through York and North Yorkshire has been cleared.

National Highways reported seven mile queues, and 90 minute delays following a multi-vehicle collision on the A64's junction with the A19 at York.

One eye witness told The Press that police and fire crews were at the scene, and the carriageway was completely closed.

He believed the queues could've been stretching back to Tadcaster.

Reports have since come out that all lanes have been reopened, as traffic in the area begins to ease.
