A musical duo, consisting of continental musicians who "share a passion for the sound of the viol and its combination with the voice," will perform in York libraries this December.
Lucine Musaelian and Nathan Giorgetti, known as Intesa, will embark on their mini library tour on December 16 and December 17.
Intesa is an Italian word meaning understanding, or a meeting of minds.
The tour is part of a partnership, called 'Baroque Around the Books,' between the National Centre for Early Music and Explore York Libraries and Archives.
The duo will conduct their library tour after appearing at the York Early Music Christmas Festival, which runs from December 6 to December 15.
Intesa's workshops within the libraries are intended to furnish opportunities to celebrate, and discover, "early music" - i.e., music from earlier historical periods.
The duo's tour schedule is as follows:
Monday, December 16: Tang Hall Explore at 12 noon and York Explore at 2.30pm;
Tuesday, December 17: Acomb Explore at 11am and Clifton Explore at 1.30pm.
All performances are free, although tickets for Acomb Explore must be booked in advance, either at the venue or online.
Bookings for Acomb Explore can be made at https://ncem.co.uk/baroque-around-the-books/
