A primary school is offering a free stay and play session for Reception and Nursery children who are due to start next academic year.
Nawton Community Primary School is inviting parents, and their children of age to start Reception or Nursery in September 2025, to attend the session on Monday, December 16, from 2pm to 3pm.
Children can begin their learning journey from the day they turn three at the school, as both Nursery and Reception provision are offered there.
Learning in the early years is play-based, said a spokesperson, and takes place both indoor and outdoor.
Additional opportunities, including Forest Schools, cooking at The Cook's Place in Malton, and physical education sessions from Hawkes and Ryedale Judo Club, are also made available to children.
A spokesperson said: "When Ofsted visited the school in 2022 they commented that children in the Early Years get off to a good start, and that learning is purposeful because staff are passionate about their role."
Wraparound care is also offered for children in Reception and above.
Further dates of sample sessions will be made available in the new year.
Visits can also be arranged by contacting the school on 01439 771245.
