TWO suspected car thieves have been arrested after a stolen car was stung by North Yorkshire Police.
The force says that Cleveland Police first made them aware that a car they were pursuing was heading into North Yorkshire at 3.46pm on Monday (November 18).
A police spokesman said: "The black BMW, which was using cloned number plates, was discovered by our officers in the Northallerton area, less than an hour later.
"They pursued it into nearby Newby Wiske, where a stinger device had been set up to puncture the tyres, bringing the car to a safe stop at 4.50pm.
"The car was found to be a stolen vehicle from Nottinghamshire. Two suspects, aged 17 and 18, were arrested at the scene and have now been released on unconditional bail."
