A crash has closed a major road in North Yorkshire this afternoon.
North Yorkshire Police say they are dealing with a serious collision near Beadlam east of Helmsley.
They have closed the A170 to the east of the village while the emergency services deal with the crash.
A spokesman said: "Motorists travelling between Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside should find an alternative route."
The police have not said when they hope to reopen the road or any details of the vehicles involved.
