Swinton and District Excelsior Band has celebrated a victory in the Darley Dale Brass Band Contest.
Taking place on Sunday, November 3, the contest saw the band deliver a rendition of Philip Sparke's Saint-Saens Variations.
The performance secured the band first place in section four.
The band noted the "expert guidance" of MD Bob Stradling as a factor in its win, with a spokesperson saying: "Thanks must go to Bob; and to our president, Christopher Tetley, for his support towards making the day a success."
The spokesperson added, however, that a "sad farewell" has been bid to the band's first baritone player, who is moving away for work.
The band is now seeking a new baritone player.
Interested musicians can apply via email at md@swinton-band.com.
Any other players are always welcome.
