A MAJOR shop in York has been evacuated after an incident.
The Press is at the scene outside Marks & Spencer in Parliament Street where four fire engines are parked outside with lights flashing.
The inside of the store has been evacuated, as customers wait outside.
Members of the M&S emergency team remain inside the shop.
UPDATE (6.04pm): Several fire engines are at the scene now, an alarm sound can be heard from inside the building. Traffic passing the southern end of M&S is now at a standstill.
