Weather warnings have been issued following a day of extensive rain across North Yorkshire.
Police are urging motorists to drive to the conditions following several road-related incidents.
A number of flood warnings are also in place.
A police spokesperson said: " We are currently in the middle of a yellow rain warning, which does warn of localised flooding, power cuts and loss of some services.
The warning also includes difficult driving conditions. Please drive to the conditions, we have already had several road related incidents today.
"We have flood warnings in place along the Yorkshire Coast tonight.
"Staithes to Whitby - The A174 (coastal road) is more likely to be affected, especially in places like Sandsend.
"Whitby to Filey - concerns for Scarborough's North and South bays.
2The advice is to stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads due to concerns of high waves and sea spray. This includes debris from within the sea."

Pickering Beck at Ings Bridge, Levisham Station, River Seven at Normanby.
River Derwent at Low Marishes, Malton A64 bridge, Malton, Mowthorpe Weir Head.
River Rye at Howe Bridge, Ness.
River Dove at Kirkby Mills.
Hovingham Beck at Hovingham.
Sea cut at Mowthorpe.
River Esk at Lealholm, Briggswath, Castleton.
