A Malton businessman is planning to run seven marathons in seven days to help raise funds towards Ryedale Special Families’ new ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Pickering.
Andy Reeves' official ‘7 in 7’ marathons will start on October 14 and finish on Sunday, October 20 at the Yorkshire Marathon.
As part of his training Andy will also run a full marathon on a treadmill and you’ll be able to see him in Malton Market Place on Sunday, October 6 at Malton’s Harvest Food Festival!
Ryedale Special Families’ new facility will run a wide variety of services and activities for local disabled young children and adults in the the area, offering much needed respite for those families.
Featuring sensory spaces and welcoming areas for parents and carers to meet, the new building will be fully accessible with ample car parking space and will include a fantastic outdoor area to socialise in and enjoy the weather.
Andy said: “The charity is still around £250,000 short of the estimated £1,4m required and I wanted to do my part to help raise funds for this wonderful charity that my family has benefited from already.”
