A NORTH Yorkshire stately home is joining forces with a London-based caterer to launch a supper club.

Birdsall House, is collaborating with The Pickled Fork this Autumn to launch the supper club exclusive to The Old Kitchens, the home's newly renovated state-of-the-art events space situated in the ‘downstairs’.

Alex Motture, Chef and Founder of The Pickled Fork, has established a sought-after status in London, catering for clients including Chanel, Dior, Alexander McQueen and James Purdey and has since expanded into Yorkshire.

Birdsall House was built in 1540 and current owners, Hon. James and Lady Cara Willoughby opened their home for events in 2017 to ensure the longevity of the building and to allow more people to make use of the historic rooms and grounds.

Earlier this year they also launched The Old Kitchens, a total transformation of the building’s large abandoned Victorian kitchen complex of rooms, found in the basement of the house. It now hosts private events, parties and serves as the venue for wedding receptions, with ceremonies and wedding breakfasts taking place in the rest of the house and grounds.

While The Old Kitchens can host events for up to 200 people, the Supper Club will have a maximum capacity of 40 for an exclusive dining experience. The Pickled Fork will be serving a menu of local ingredients, including a main course of Venison from the Birdsall estate, and drinks will be available from The Old Kitchens bar.

Lady Willoughby said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with The Pickled Fork. Alex’s commitment to locally sourced ingredients is really appealing to us as a countryside location. While The Old Kitchens can host big parties, we hope this Supper Club will also showcase how intimate it can feel for an event such as this – it also gives people the opportunity to experience Alex’s exquisite food.”

Alex said: “Since The Pickled Fork expanded beyond London we have been really fortunate to be asked to cater some really exciting events and this is no exception. Expect a dining experience like no other.”

The Old Kitchens is usually only available for private hire so this is also an opportunity for guests to experience an evening in the space. The supper club takes place on October 11 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £75. Visit https://birdsallestates.co.uk to book.
