A man who raped a woman in a North Yorkshire pub toilet is set to have his sentence reviewed.
As reported by The Press, on August 2, Szczepan Zenon Malczewski was sentenced to two years and nine months behind bars at York Crown Court.
The 38-year-old from Eastfield was found guilty of stranger rape and sexual assault, after following a woman into a pub toilet in Scarborough.
The Attorney General's office has since confirmed that his sentence will be reviewed.
A statement said: "We have received a request for this sentence to be considered under the Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS) scheme.
"The law officers have 28 days from sentencing to consider the case and make a decision."
The ULS scheme allows for a sentence to be reviewed if it is considered too lenient.
It only applies to serious crimes including murder, rape, and manslaughter.
The sentence will now be considered by the Court of Appeal.
