Celebrated composer and organist Philip Moore will give a special recital in St John's Church in Welburn next week.
Philip succeeded Francis Jackson as Organist and Master of the Music at York Minster in 1983 and was appointed Organist Emeritus on his retirement in 2008. He also conducted the York Musical Society for 27 years.
The recital forms part of a programme of concerts in St.John's Church, the proceeds of which will go to the Organ Renovation Fund. The rare 'Father' Willis organ is in need, after 150 years, of complete renovation if it is to be saved for future generations.
Philip will be performing on Friday,September 20 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are not required but generous donations to the fund will be gratefully received.
