AN 'unforgettable' day of music and entertainment took place in Pickering at the weekend.
Pickering Rocks held its annual festival on Saturday. September 7, featuring a stellar line-up of both renowned and rising local music talents.
Musicians included Poison Dart, Hunter Gatherer, Kirkby Soul, Gumbox, Penny Fleck and finishing the day off with acoustic guitarist Ross McWhiter with guest drummer his son Moon.
“This year’s festival is all about celebrating diversity and community through music and entertainment and we are very appreciative of the local support.” said Scott Wardell, Founder of Pickering Rocks.
The event was completely free to attend and in addition to the musicians there were children’s rides, a circus act who demonstrated high wire, plate spinning and juggling along with a face painter.
Pickering Rocks is an annual event that celebrates music, community and is all about making memories. Since its inception in 2020 the festival has grown to become one of the most anticipated events of the summer, attracting hundreds of families and friends. Pickering Rocks raises money throughout the year by holding fundraising events in order to make the main event a free family event.
The event moved into the pubs with the brilliant Rocketsmith kicking things off at the Recreation Club and This House We Built starring at the Black Swan and Accord singing at the Conservative Club with Subgroup 1 at the Rose, before SKINT closed the event at the Wine Bar.
Pickering Rocks would like to thank its main sponsor, Crombie Wilkinson who sponsored the stage along with local businesses Cloud-nine design, Pulse Audio and Visual, Disciple 13 along with the local Town Council all of whom continue to support the Pickering Rocks committee who continue to give all their time for free.

Philip added: "The success of this event for the community & businesses of Pickering belies the dedication & time the organisers have obviously invested in bringing this event to life."
