AN UPCOMING North Yorkshire food festival promises to offer a ‘festival of flavours’ on the ‘ultimate autumn day out’.

The Festival of Flavours is set to be held on the weekend of September 7 and 8 at RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate and will host a jam-packed schedule of cookery demonstrations, local food stalls, and kitchen garden tours offering visitors a day of ‘family foodie fun’.

Events include talks with a number of popular chefs (hosted by owner of the Yorkshire Food Finder, Sue Nelson) such as the team from the Grand, Great British Bake Off 2019 winner, David Atherton, Great British Bake Off contestant Helena Garcia, and other well-known and Michelin starred chefs.

There will also be live cookery demonstrations from popular chefs and foodies, including The Great British Bake Off 2019 winner, David Atherton, where they will share recipes and tips to help you create delicious dishes using ingredients picked fresh from the garden.

A host of live music, children’s cookery classes, and exhibitor talks are also a feature of the day in what’s billed as being ‘the ultimate autumn day out’. 

The organisers invite visitors to ‘get take-home tips from chefs and local food producers and enjoy Kitchen Garden tours, while relaxing to live music in the beautiful surroundings of RHS Garden Harlow Carr’.

There are also food and drink stands offering treats such as Yorkshire-made gin and rum to quirky grow-your-own mushroom kits. There is also the chance to meet with local producers and growers to taste and talk about their produce.

Normal admission applies, but entry is free to RHS members and children under five. All talks, tours and cookery demos are free with garden admission, available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets can be purchased online.
