A bespoke life-size metal horse has gone up for auction to raise funds for a Norton-based charity.

Acorn Community Care is based on an eight-acre farm on the outskirts of the town.

The charity provides care and support for people living with learning and physical disabilities through a wide range of activities.

Alison Cashmore from Acorn said: "The charity, offers a variety of programs designed to enhance life skills, build confidence, and foster creativity among its members. Among these initiatives is a unique welding workshop that has recently captured the community's attention with the creation of an extraordinary work of art—a 15-hand-high horse sculpture crafted entirely from scrap metal.

"The welding workshop, one of the many facilities at Acorn Community Care, provides individuals with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills in metalwork. The life size horse is a testament to the creativity and hard work of the Acorn Community Care members and demonstrate the capabilities of individuals with disabilities.

The horse is going to be on display at Jack Berry House at the Malton Racing Open Day on Sunday, September 8 and will then be moved to Steam and Moorland Garden Centre until the end of September. This is your opportunity to own this magnificent sculpture as the horse is being raffled.
