This last weekend’s event at Scampston Hall called “Bangers & Cash” caused more chaos for villagers in Rillington and the neighbouring villages and for the bus companies servicing the A64 from Malton to Scarborough.
The road accident on Saturday did not help the situation, but there was no such happening on Sunday but the chaos continued. Do the owners of the Scampston Estate know of (or even care of) the problems caused to local people?
My wife has dementia, is bed bound, and I rely on carers in the afternoon to give me two hours’ respite care. On Saturday 10th August it took the carer over two hours to travel from Old Malton to Rillington. Sunday 11th August it took the carer 1hr 26 minutes from Burythorpe to Rillington via Thorpe Bassett. I’m told there is going to be another major event (a Steam Fayre) at Scampston Hall in the near future. Is this chaos to continue?
