The annual Westow art exhibition takes place next weekend.
Held in Westow Cricket Club Community Pavilion, over 30 artists have pieces on display in various mediums, including watercolour, oils, silk screen printing, quilting, photography and pastels.
Raffle tickets to win an original painting of by Amanda Pickles, will be on sale and is to be drawn on the Sunday at 3pm.
Money raised through this year’s exhibition will be used to purchase a portable defibrillator for the Community pavilion.
Julie Price, one of the organisers, said the event had been running for 19 years.
“As everyone knows, the Annual Art Exhibition raises money for local good causes.
“In the last couple of years we have given money to Prostate Cancer UK, York Breast Friends and York Against Cancer.
“This year we plan to raise money for a portable defibrillator for the Westow Cricket Community Pavilion and fund it for four years.
“We feel this would be an asset to the pavilion, especially when it is being used increasingly more.”
Hot and cold drinks, together with slices of cake and home baking, will be on sale throughout the event.
The art exhibition is on Friday, August 16, noon till 4pm and 7pm till 9pm; Saturday, August 17, 10am till 4pm; and Sunday, August 19, 10am till 4pm.

Entry to the exhibition is free and everyone is welcome.
